Rachel Ostow Lustbader has sold apartment 29BC at Museum Tower, 15 West 53rd Street, for $4.95 million. The sale of the fully renovated four-bedroom condominium closed on October 8, 2026.
Ostow Lustbader is a consecutively ranked top-producing broker at Coldwell Banker Warburg, part of Manhattan's best-known boutique firms, and has spent more than 25 years in Manhattan residential real estate. Before that she practiced labor law at Weil Gotshal & Manges after earning her J.D. at Columbia Law School, and she has brought that negotiating expertise to her real estate work ever since. Her sales range from townhouses and large family apartments on the Upper East and Upper West Sides to the Village, Tribeca and NoMad, along with Brooklyn neighborhoods from Williamsburg to Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
The 2,930-square-foot home has four bedrooms and four and a half baths, all renovated to a high standard. Claro walnut doors open to a long entry hall and a formal gallery, which leads into an expansive living and dining room with an open kitchen at one end and a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows at the other. The windows face south and east, with views across Midtown to the East River. A gas fireplace sits in a Venetian plaster hearth, opposite built-in shelving in book-matched quartered wenge. The Eggersmann kitchen has Silestone counters and island with Miele and Wolf appliances.
The primary bedroom shares the southern exposure and has a dressing area between two fitted closets, and an adjacent bedroom can join it as a suite. Each of the four bedrooms has its own bath in travertine or marble. Walnut floors and custom doors run throughout.
Museum Tower, designed by Cesar Pelli, rises above the Museum of Modern Art and offers hotel-style service, with door, concierge and elevator attendants, a live-in manager, a fitness center and Pilates room with sauna and steam, a screening room, a wine tasting room and a landscaped terrace overlooking MoMA's Philip Johnson-designed sculpture garden.
