42 Wooster Street #3 Sold for $9.65M by Mark Mistovich's Team
A full-floor, 4,497-square-foot SoHo loft in an 1883 cast-iron building on Wooster Street, with ceilings of about 12½ feet, original columns and French doors onto a private courtyard, has sold through Sotheby's International Realty.
The third-floor loft at 42 Wooster Street in SoHo has sold for $9.65 million. Mark Mistovich, Daniela Sassoun, Karin Dauch and Pier DeMarco of Sotheby's International Realty represented the seller.
The residence spans 4,497 square feet across a full floor of an 1883 cast-iron building. The building runs as one condominium with its neighbor at 50 Wooster. Completely renovated, the loft makes the most of three rare exposures. Six large windows look out over the building's 50-foot frontage on Wooster Street, and six sets of working French doors open over the quiet courtyard shared with 50 Wooster. Light fills the rooms throughout the day. The generous proportions and long runs of uninterrupted wall space suit a serious art collection, so the home can work as both a residence and a gallery.
The loft is built for entertaining. A keypad-controlled elevator opens directly into a proper entry foyer with a powder room. Beyond it, the great room has ceilings of about 12½ feet, original exposed columns and a gas fireplace. There is a dining area for 14 and a custom retractable bar cart. An office/library overlooks Wooster Street, and a second library/media room has built-in bookshelves and French doors. The kitchen has Wolf, Miele and Sub-Zero appliances. Next to it, a butler's pantry adds a wine refrigerator, a second dishwasher, laundry and plenty of storage.
The sprawling primary suite has a dressing room and a spa bath with a marble vanity, heated floors, a separate steam shower and a soaking tub. Further fully equipped en-suite bedrooms follow, one of which feels like a second primary suite. Central air conditioning runs throughout, and the building has a full-time superintendent. With this sale, the Mistovich team has placed one of SoHo's classic cast-iron lofts with its next owner.
